(not quite) Thoreau's Walden

  • "To be awake is to be alive."
  • Henry David Thoreau

we came to the woods to find a bunch of people on the Walden Pond Beach.   We left the woods without Andrea, whom we lost.  Don't worry, we did find here again.

my favorite place: rail road tracks. I don't know why, but I'll take them over a pond any day!

  • "A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature. It is Earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature."  Henry David Thoreau

What the sign says: "I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."

  • Henry David Thoreau

    • "A man is rich in proportion to the number of things which he can afford to let alone."
      • Henry David Thoreau
